Hello,
I am Alistair Banerjee. I’ve been involved in various business in general for the past 15 years, and I’ve finally decided to launch this site to be able to share with you topics that are very dear to my heart. I hold majors in IT, Management, Literature and Statistics. I’ve studied French, Economics and Statistics in France at the University of Toulouse 1 and 2, and at the University of Bristol in the UK. I am also trained in advanced taxation at The Income Tax School, a program affiliated with the University of Illinois, Urbana, in the United States. I’ve traveled to over 40 countries, and I speak French, Russian, Bengali, Spanish, Hindi and some Japanese. I am an American citizen, and currently live with my wife and three beautiful daughters in Chicago. I’m currently in the process of becoming an Enrolled Agent, a federally authorized tax practitioner empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Enrolled Agents represent taxpayers before the IRS for tax issues including audits, collections and appeals.
I currently own several businesses, including Quaint Media LLC, which is a business development and consulting company based out of my hometown. I’ve developed Qetchup Card Game which went on to receive several awards and was sold around the world via multiple retail channels, and via our own website. I’ve sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of online businesses and domain names, and I continue to remain active in the field. My current plan is to build a full-service tax consulting service for individuals and small-businesses, while continuing to work on my existing undertakings. I’ve been investing in the stock market for many years, and through this website I intend to help beginner and intermediate investors avoid the mistakes that I’d made when I started out.
I am also a member of both NATJA and the Society of Professional Journalists. In the last few years, thanks to my travels, I’ve been able to contribute insightful accounts in travel and investigative journalism. My experience in Colombia a couple of years ago earned me an award from NATJA during a ceremony held in Los Angeles, California.
As the pandemic broke out, I saw millions of my fellow Americans losing jobs, and struggling to make ends meet. I saw people of all ages and skills lose their livelihood left and right. Estimates suggest that almost half of those people are facing permanent unemployment because their place of work either closed permanently or will be unwilling to hire them back due to severe decrease in revenue. This has been almost depressing for me to endure. I think, if we, as a people, were better prepared, we could probably minimize the damage caused by this a little better.
The reality is some of the most important life-lessons are not taught as school. Therefore, many young people struggle while facing real life situations. While a lot of that has to do with financial literacy and credit awareness, it also has to do with a lack of personal foundation and discipline which they have never been taught.
